GreenThumb Garden Steward Position

Urban Abundance is on a mission to transform backyards into thriving edible gardens—and we’re looking for passionate, plant-loving folks to help us grow. As a GreenThumb, you’ll be the friendly face and steady hand that keeps our members’ gardens productive, beautiful, and full of life.
What You’ll Do
You’ll manage a biweekly route of home gardens across North Palm Beach County, ensuring each one is healthy, bountiful, and blooming with joy.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Maintaining Garden Beds: Prune, trellis, weed, and replant based on our seasonal crop list. Keep each garden thriving and tidy.
- Plant Health & Pest Management: Catch issues early and use organic methods to treat pests and diseases.
- Irrigation System Checks: Run a full cycle at every visit and ensure even, efficient watering. Flag any issues.
- Harvest Support: Teach members how and when to harvest. If they’re not home, do a light harvest and leave a note.
- Visit Reports & Photos: Submit clear visit notes, harvest logs, and garden photos using our Jobber app.
- Client Engagement: Build genuine relationships with garden members. Be their guide, teacher, and source of inspiration.
You’ll also help onboard new members during their first planting session—explaining the crops, labeling everything clearly, and setting them up for success.

- You live in or near North Palm Beach County and know the area well
- You’re passionate about growing food and sharing knowledge
- You enjoy hands-on work and being outdoors, even in the summer heat
- You’re personable, dependable, and love building relationships
- You’re organized and able to manage your own route and schedule
- You’re comfortable using mobile apps for notes and communication
